You most likely do not like the water spots it leaves behind on your car. For those lucky people who are able to park their car in their garage, they can avoid that. However, it cannot be avoided completely. You still need to remember that you cannot keep your car in a garage all day, and that it can rain when your are out driving, or have your car parked elsewhere. You should also consider that sprinklers can leave behind water spots on your car. You yourself may also be a co-culprit if you do not properly dry your car off after you wash it. You car’s paint job, windows, and windshield are all affected by water spots. In the following article you will find out more about water spots and what are the best methods of removing them.

So, what exactly are water spots? When your car gets rained on, sprayed with sprinkler water, or isn’t dried off after you wash it, some amount of water is left on your car. The villain is not the water itself, but what is in the water. This is often some type of mineral deposit. If you do not immediately dry your car off in any of the previously mentioned scenarios, then the water will evaporate and the mineral deposit will be baked into your car by the sun. That is something that you do not want, because it will damage paint job on your car.

You are probably wondering if there is any way to prevent or reduce the damage water spots can produce. The first thing you can do is have your car waxed, as this is a very effective way of maintaining the exterior of your car. Make sure you do this on a consistent basis, so your car will reap the benefits of being properly maintained. Another thing you can do is to park your car in a garage or under a car port. If this option is not available to you make sure you wipe down your car with a microfiber cloth right after the rainstorm. When washing your car you should also dry it off with a microfiber cloth. Do not allow your car to air dry. Avoid parking by sprinklers when possible. You might also want to consider keeping a microfiber cloth in your trunk so you can be prepared if you are caught in the rain while you are out.

So, life came at you, and you couldn't do anything to prevent the water spots from invading your beautiful car. One thing you can do is to make a mixture of one part white distilled vinegar to one part water and put it in a spray bottle. Now spray this mixture on the water spots, whether they are on the windows, windshields, or the paint job itself. Now just wipe the mixture off with a microfiber towel and the water spots should be gone. If this doesn’t work you may want to take your car to a professional auto detailer to take care of it for you.
